Job Description:
As an Associate Bioinformatics Scientist in oncology business unit, you will play an integral role in supporting product development of genomics-based solutions for oncology. Primary responsibilities will include analysis of next-gen sequencing data, novel algorithm design and providing general bioinformatics support to teams within the oncology business unit.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

-Employ the latest methods in bioinformatics to oncology-related next-gen sequencing data sets.

-Provide support to ongoing projects in fast paced research and product development environments.

-Engage in collaborative research and publications.

-Maintain familiarity with current scientific computing approaches.

-Maintain familiarity with the field of oncology.

-Keep detailed lab notebooks, prepare reports, invention disclosures, updates and summaries for managers and teams as directed.

Requirements:

Skills:

Demonstrated accomplishment in some or all of the following skills is preferred:

-Proficiency in Perl/Python, Matlab/R, and/or C/C++/C#.

-Understanding & usage of bioinformatics algorithms.

-Critical-thinking skills and experience in managing/interpreting large biological datasets.

-Next Gen sequencing technology, tool usage, and data analysis is a plus.

-Superior written and verbal communication skills.

-Education: B.S. or M.S. in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, or related field.

-Background in oncology or clinical experience a plus.
