Job Description:
OBJECTIVES:
Based in Cambridge, MA, the role is a research leader who will be responsible for establishing a world-class bioinformatics team for support of internal Immuno-Oncology programs and external collaborations, and who will serve as the global lead in the Immunology Unit for systems immunology / bioinformatics. A small team reporting to this leader will be responsible for advancing internal oncology pipeline through strategic application of cutting edge bioinformatics approaches. This leader will cultivate interactions and influence all aspects of Immuno-Oncology including early discovery, translational research and clinical development.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reports to Associate Director of Immunology Research and Head of Immunoprofiling at TBOS.
Establish a world-class systems biology/immunology platform in Boston to support deep immunoprofiling and target identification
Responsible for the analysis of both pre-clinical and clinical data sets including RNA-Seq, Exome and Whole Genome Sequencing, single cell sequencing and high throughput proteomics to nominate novel drug targets, enable patient enrichment strategies, and prioritize combination therapies.
Serves as a leader in systems immunology within the Immunology Unit, establishing best practices and scientifically rigorous standards for procedures, data management, and data interpretation.
Provides strategic guidance and project leadership for Immuno-Oncology programs as appropriate, including mentoring PTLs.
Plays a key role in translational research activities, including biomarker discovery and validation, in partnership with the Translational Research & Early Clinical team and expert external groups.
Builds relationships & collaborates with scientific leaders, KOLs, academic partners, CROs and biotech companies and is seen as an international subject matter expert in systems biology/immunology.
Keeps up with the up-to-date scientific advancement (e.g. competitive landscape, new technologies, availability of newly available datasets).
Qualifications

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
PhD or equivalent in Immunology or Biology
Expert in Immunology Bioinformatics
At least 10 years of Industry experience in Systems Immunology and Bioinformatics, including Immuno-Oncology field
International reputation as evidenced by strong publication record
Experience working on large projects with internal and external collaborators
Extensive experience with relevant public domain data sets, as well as, NGS data.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires approximately 20% or more travel, including international.
