Job Description:
The Desert Research Institute in conjunction with the Renown Institute for Health Innovation announces a faculty position in mathematics or statistics. We are looking for a senior level research professor with expertise in large data set analysis, familial-based association studies and other aspects of population genetic analysis. The researcher should have an established record both in securing funding and publishing high quality peer-reviewed research in these areas. The applicant will need to have experience analyzing human genetic studies larger than 5,000 samples. The applicant will have deep expertise in a statistical language such as R or SAS as well as leadership skills such as the direction of institutional cores in population genetics or bioinformatics. - Ph.D. in computational biology, statistics, computational genetics or a related field from an accredited institution
- Deep expertise in a statistical language such as R or SAS
- Expertise in genome wide association studies
- Evidence of the ability to participate in and coordinate collaborative research
- Demonstrated success in acquiring competitive funding
- Knowledge and experience managing and executing research grants and contracts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated by a record of publications, peer-reviewed journal articles, presentations at professional meetings, and intellectual productivity appropriate for the candidate’s professional rank
- Evidence of increasing professional recognition at the regional, national and/or international levels
- Employment is contingent upon a successful completion of a background check.
