The Position:

Successful candidates are expected to teach in the undergraduate program on courses (such as International Relations of the Asia Pacific and International Peace Studies), and potentially in the graduate program. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda. Within the field of international relations, the position is open to all sub-fields, though preference may be given to constructivist or critical IR scholars working on regional issues involving East Asia, Southeast Asia, or Central and South Asia. In addition to a commitment to teaching and research, candidates are also expected to contribute to appropriate administrative duties at the university.

Required Candidate Qualifications:

At a minimum, applicants must meet items 1 and 2 below.

All candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment. The ability to instruct courses in English is required. Japanese ability or proficiency in other languages is not required but is beneficial.

Employment Conditions:
Academic appointment, rank and salary dependent upon qualifications of candidates. Employment package includes bonus, housing and transportation allowances.
