Job Description:
As an Associate Scientist you will support the development of platforms based on our proprietary Sequencing technology. You will be part of multidisciplinary teams solving complex problems, working on integration issues and investigating new research areas in the pursuit of developing new assays for the next generations sequencing platforms.

Responsibilities:

-Work on extremely complex problems as part of team.

-Performing routine chemical and biochemical testing.

-Using standard laboratory instrumentation: i.e. UV-VIS, HPLC, fluorescence plate readers, liquid handling robotics Produce and test complex reagents.

-Hands-on testing and integration of DNA sequencing systems – hardware, firmware, software, chemistry/reagents, and application components.

-Hands-on development of sample preparation kits for DNA sequencing systems - including working with bioinformatics on data analysis and interpretation.

-Participating on multidisciplinary teams.

-Supporting the testing and screening of new materials.

-Analysis of large complex data sets utilizing your broad experience and knowledge.

-Keeping a laboratory notebook.

-Present updates, write reports, and conduct technical meetings.

Requirements:

-Product development experience, including assay optimization, integration and testing, transfer to production, and documentation.

-Experience with reagent development for instrumentation is desired.

-A sound foundation in experimental design and molecular biology is desired.

-Excellent communication skills.

-A desire to be part of a fast-paced dynamic Development environment.

-Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Education:

The ideal candidate with have a BS or MS degree in the Biological Sciences and 1-5 years experience in development, especially in DNA and RNA analysis
