Job Description:
Our Client is a looking for a motivated and experienced scientist with deep hands-on knowledge of next generation sequencing (NGS) workflows and methodologies, including target enrichment/library prep., sequencing, and data analysis. The candidate will work with cross-department groups to assess internal data sets, with a focus on bioinformatics analysis. This includes the design, development, and deployment of robust analysis workflows that support analysis of multiplatform NGS data, including coverage analysis, mutation, and variant calling. Primary Duties & Responsibilities -Design, develop, and optimize data analysis pipelines for multiplatform NGS analysis using industry best practices. -Lead role in the bioinformatics-based assessment of internal data sets, with the ultimate goal of creating streamlined analysis tools for internal lab scientists to use. -With other members of the team, if needed, participate in support for ongoing production primer designs. -Assist field application staff with the analysis and troubleshooting of customer data, including working directly with those customers to resolve issues. -Hands-on experience analyzing NGS data sets, using industry-standard methods and tools. -Ability to work with scientists, and other customers, to refine experimental design and analysis workflows. -Ability to employ techniques to optimize product performance and inform product development. -Experience developing software in Unix/Linux environments, in particular with Python and R. -Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and to deliver results on time per project deadlines. -Superior communication skills in a highly diverse cross-disciplinary environment. Education / Experience -Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline, plus 1-3 (level 2) or 3-5 (level 3) years' experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). -Experience with single cell data analysis. -Experience with PCR, including custom PCR primer design. -Experience with SNP analysis from probe-based chemistry. -Database development experience, in particular PostgreSQL or MySQL. -Experience working in a HPC environment. -Experience with regulatory standards for CLIA and/or FDA IVD tests.
