We are looking for a highly motivated Bioinformatician to join our Bioinformatics team. The IGM Bioinformatics team is responsible for analyzing of large volumes of DNA sequencing data. We are building a bioinformatics and data science operation for scale with built n automation to manage tens of thousands of WGS/Exome data analysis with a consistent analysis pipeline and follow-up statistical analysis. We are looking for a highly motivated Bioinformatician to join our Bioinformatics team. The IGM Bioinformatics team is responsible for analyzing of large volumes of DNA sequencing data. We are building a bioinformatics and data science operation for scale with built n automation to manage tens of thousands of WGS/Exome data analysis with a consistent analysis pipeline and follow-up statistical analysis. The individual will join a talented group of bioinformatics scientists/statisticians and programmers to:
- Develop/Implement novel bioinformatics software;
- Benchmark and evaluate third-party bioinformatics software tools and integrate into IGM analysis;
- Design, develop, and maintain scheduling systems and components for pipeline automation;
- Contribute to the development of a big-data framework for large scale genomic analysis on distributed computing platforms;
- Contribute to the development of new platforms and solutions for large integrative analysis of genomic data;
- Provide programming and data management support for the genomics Sequencing Core and Project Leads on exceptionally large studies.
- Strong programming skills (C, Perl/Python or Java) and experience in *NIX environments;
- Experience designing and implementing software operational automation for large data (analysis pipelines);
- Experience in NGS bioinformatics analysis and software pertaining;
- Knowledge of relational database query and schema design and database programming interfaces for large datasets;
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, desire and ability to work effectively within a team, including strong organization and communication skills;
- Willingness and initiative to seek out and learn novel tools, methods, and technologies within a quickly evolving field.
