Job Description:
Granger Genetics is currently seeking a full-time Bioinformatician. The ideal candidate will have experience with 1) analyzing next-generation sequencing data with an eye toward biological interpretation, 2) developing analytic pipelines by integrating existing scientific tools with custom codebases, and 3) supporting existing/legacy code.

Requirements:

-5+ years of experience.

-Masters or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or related field.

-Experience with analyzing next generation sequence data, sequence alignment, variant calling, genome assembly, metagenomics, phylogenetics.

-Experience designing and executing scientific projects with minimal supervision.

-Experience with statistical analysis of biological data (linear regression, analysis of variance, multivariate statistics).

-Proficiency with Python and SQL.

-Proficiency with git source control management.

-Proficiency with Linux HPC systems.

-Ability to support/transition legacy Perl code.

-Desired, but not required: Team management experience, Java, database design, iPython/Jupyter, R, multiprocessing/parallel programming.
