Job Description:
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pathology is seeking an accomplished Bioinformatician.

The incumbent will be in charge of clinical bioinformatics principally for the analysis of next generation sequencing data.

Rank will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Duties will include the identification and optimization of a bioinformatics pipeline to facilitate the analysis of NGS data including variants, translocations and deletions.

Will be expected to assemble an appropriate team to include programmers and analysts, identify and implement software needed for analytical purposes, identify and implement data storage solutions that are HIPAA compliant and work closely with the Medical Directors, Genetic Counselors and ordering Physicians to facilitate data analysis and informative reporting.

PhD, MD or MD/PhD required with postdoctoral experience in NGS bioinformatics.
