Job Description:
The position of Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist is of highest importance to contribute for the future portfolio of innovative drugs.
As Head of The Bioinformatics & Computational Biology group, the incumbent will guarantee the advancement of biomedical research within discovery research institutes.
Key roles and activities
• You will assist in leading the design, analysis and interpretation of biomedical studies by consolidating a small bioinformatics group by building strong collaborations with R & D teams within the group and with academic institutions.
• You will participate to innovation in focusing on dissecting the gene regulatory networks and signaling pathways in human diseases, particularly in cancer.
• You will contribute in reconstructing genome-wide and context-specific predictive network models to interrogate the impact of underpinning biological process, to the development of both physiological and pathological phenotypes and generate in-silico hypothesis in combination with laboratory validations.
Skills and experience
• The candidate is required to have a PhD degree in bioinformatics / computational science, with experience in computational statistics, biological sciences.
• The selected candidate should have a strong background in handling, processing and analyzing omics and particularly NGS data.
• Demonstrate experience of genome-wide genetic, genomic, pathway and network methods.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and demonstrate management abilities
