Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral bioinformatics scientists who will develop systems and databases to analyze our large and complex datasets for scientific use. Your tasks will include the evaluation and development of data algorithms, analytical tools and data models. The bioinformatician should work to establish a group dedicated to “systems neuroimmunology”.

Your skills and qualifications:

· Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or related discipline

· + 3 years of relevant working experience in the field of bioinformatics

· Hands-on experience with a broad range of current bioinformatics and computational biology tools, methods and applications

· Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)

· Able to work focused, independently but at the same time team-oriented

· Knowledge of molecular biology is not required but beneficial

· Track record of research productivity as evidenced by publications/presentations

· Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

· The ideal candidate will be interested in developing her/his own research profile including the ability to acquire independent third-party funding

Our department is dedicated to obtain a better understanding of neuroimunological diseases, especially the mechanisms how the immune regulatory network architecture is disturbed, can be therapeutically modified and how this leads to neuroinflammatory disorders. We combine our experience in basic animal models and patient-focused research with novel state-of-the-art technologies to better understand nervous system autoimmunity. We have a lively interaction with highly renowned groups in the field of immunology and neuroimmunology both nationally and internationally. The department is leading a Centre research grant for Multiple sclerosis (SFB TR128), including a clinical translation platform. Furthermore, various cohorts of patients with different neurological disorders and therapeutic interventions as well as a biomaterial bank exist.
