Job Description:
We are seeking to recruit a bioinformatician to employ computational biology approaches to study ageing and longevity within the Integrative Genomics of Ageing Group. We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to develop and apply sophisticated data-mining methods and computational models at the interface of biology, mathematics and computer science. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr Joao Pedro de Magalhaes. You should have a degree in computer sciences or biology with bioinformatics experience in a university or within industry. You should have knowledge of functional genomics and experience in scripting. For appointment at Grade 7, you should have a PhD in computer sciences or biology and a broad knowledge of biology and biomedical sciences. Experience in the analysis of large-scale genome and/or transcriptome data would be a plus. This post is available in the first instance for 1 year.
