Job Description:
We are seeking an outstanding bioinformatician to operate and maintain our CRISPR library design pipelines. This is a flexible role aimed for an early career scientist.

You will work closely with our commercial team to fulfil customer orders by developing custom CRISPR libraries from the DESKGEN library range. You will have the opportunity to improve genome editing techniques and custom in-house library design algorithms. You will work closely alongside our senior bioinformatician.

We are looking for someone with at least 4 of the 8 following attributes.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Python, postgreSQL.
  • Working experience in laboratory using CRISPR genome editing in any form
  • An in-depth and practical knowledge of bio-statistics and the ability to work with a variety of different biological data types.
  • Have previously worked with NGS data.
  • Experience working with pipeline development
  • Experience automating data analysis
  • Experience with batch processing
  • Experience with common bioinformatics methods, tools, websites and data resources is essential, in particular high-throughput data analysis tools and techniques, genome sequence analysis, and experience retrieving, manipulating and managing data from public data repositories such as TCGA, ENCODE, NCBI and Ensembl.
We are recruiting creative and enthusiastic bioinformaticians, who are computational scientists with experience in building pipelines, automating biological analysis, and batch processing of high-throughput screening data.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, postgreSQL. Experience with C or JavaScript would be desirable.

Preference will be given to candidates who have at least 2 years experience in computational biology, including the design and implementation of algorithms applied to the analysis of biological data

This 2-year position will provide an excellent opportunity to work and train as part of a highly motivated interdisciplinary team in the rapidly developing areas of CRISPR/Cas9.
