Translational Sciences – BIOINFORMATICIAN
We are looking for a Bioinformatician to join the Translational Sciences team. The department transfers knowledge between laboratory and clinical studies to improve our preclinical pipeline and ultimately treatment efficacy for patients. Requirements: Essential: • A PhD or equivalent experience in bioinformatics, computer science, computational genetic, or related field of study • Bioinformatics with general software engineering skills, data analysis skills, • Abilities in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Python/Perl and R/Matlab in a Linux environment and experience in Java and C / C++ • Expertise with statistical tools for analysing data. • Abilities in data manipulation and analysis using bioinformatics algorithms • Expertise in scripting languages and mathematics software. Desirable: • Background in biological sciences (e.g. molecular or cellular biology and genetics) or a related field. • Strong interest in contributing to biological research with clinical applications. • Familiarity with various public genomic databases, statistical software tools and packages, bioinformatics algorithms, particularly in the analysis of Next-Gen seq data. • Some experience with handling of very large (terabyte-sized) datasets. You should have excellent oral and written communication skills, which will allow you to communicate easily with a variety of scientists. You should be highly organized, work well as a part of a team and should be comfortable delivering presentations.
