Job Description:
Howard University, College of Medicine, is recruiting a Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist to conduct independent research and provide advisement and consultation to research projects and investigators associated with the Center for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics. While this position is expected to bring to the Center for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (CCBB) a broad knowledge of bioinformatics and computational biology methods and procedures, a particular emphasis in genome informatics and data analytics is expected. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills combined with a solid understanding of computer programming using appropriate languages. The candidate will have knowledge of commercial and freely available bioinformatics/computational biology application software packages and the ability to design and implement protocols to meet the needs of specific CCBB projects, as well as the ability to evaluate protocols to insure that the appropriate method is applied to a given project. Building and working in collaborative research teams is a critical component of the position. The successful candidate should possess a doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline, such as bioinformatics, computational biology, or computer science with an emphasis on biomedical processes. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of related experience is desirable. Please respond to Dr. William M.
