The Chair for Applied Bioinformatics (Prof. Oliver Kohlbacher), Center for Bioinformatics at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, one of eleven German universities distinguished as excellent under the German government’s initiative, is currently looking for a

Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist (TV-L E13 100%)

starting between August and October 2016. Upon a successful evaluation of the first funding period until February 2019, this fixed-term position can be extended for two years.

Research Project

The candidate is expected to participate in the project PersOns - Personal Oncology via Semantic Integration of Data within a BMBF-funded program in systems medicine. The aim of this project is to develop methods to support clinicians in personalized tumor therapy via semantic data integration, analytics, data visualization, and human-computer interaction. In close collaboration with leading experts in clinical oncology, text mining, semantic data integration, high-throughput data analysis, systems biology, visual analytics, cognitive-psychology, and user interface design, the candidate will focus on the integration and extraction of clinical and high-throughput data from cancer patients at contributing university hospitals as well as publicly available data.
