Job Description:
EMMES is seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst to work with the National Cancer Institute in statistical software tools for analyzing large genomic and related data, as well as assisting with overall software maintenance and development. Primary Responsibilities: -Develop, maintain and enhance the existing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data processing/analysis software. -Develop, maintain and enhance the existing gene expression analysis software. -Develop Bioinformatics/Statistical tools for existing software applications. -Develop NGS data processing/analysis pipelines for cloud environments, such as Google Genomics. -Interact with collaborators at the Biometrics Research Program –NCI. -Work with users to resolve errors in current released software versions. Primary Requirements: -Master's degree in Bioinformatics or related fields required with at least 2 years of relevant experience. -Strong programming skills in C/C++, R and Perl/Python with the willingness to program in VBA and other programming languages. -Strong interest in analysis of genomic/NGS data. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
