As a member of the Research group, the Bioinformatic Analyst will play a key role in analyzing data for application demonstrations and development of the next generation of processes for the high throughput analysis of genomic DNA. The individual’s main responsibilities will be to analyze large data sets and help write reports on those analyses. The successful candidate should have a keen desire to dig into vast data sets, be open to working with new methods of data analysis, and work well in a team environment. - Analyze large volumes of data
- Develop novel algorithms for analyzing data
- Work well in team environment
- Report and publish findings
- Perform other work related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 0-2 years of work experience
- Proficient in python and/or R for analyzing large datasets
- Experience with Linux environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Has worked with NGS data sets
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Knowledge in molecular biology and genetics
- Experience with NGS analysis tools such as BWA, samtools, GATK, etc.
- Familiar with public genomic databases and resources (NCBI, 1000 Genome, etc.)
- Strong problem solving skills
