Job Description:
The Department of Biomedical Informatics is currently seeking a Software Developer. The incumbent will be responsible for the analyses and interpretation of large high throughput biological datasets including but not limited to expression, micro RNA, SNP, methylation and Next-Gen sequencing technologies.

The incumbent will collaborate with biomedical researchers in genomics, proteomics, imaging, bioinformatics, and related disciplines and assume significant or primary responsibility for providing bioinformatics solutions for translational research. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to statistical analysis, algorithm development, interpretation of results, software development, including data portals, and assist with publications and grant proposals. The incumbent will also be responsible for communicating results to investigators in a timely manner and working on multiple projects and PIs.

Education Required Baccalaureate Minimum Related Experience Level Required 3-5 years experience Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Master’s Degree preferred. One to two years of related experience in bioinformatics software development and large data systems data mining and analysis, and understanding of genomics and proteomics. Familiarity with microarrays and next generation sequencing data, and understanding of basic statistical methods.

Strong background in bioinformatics, computer science, biology or related discipline. Experience working with microarrays or complex biological datasets is required, as is fluency with basic statistical methods

The incumbent must be able to multitask, develop priorities, work in a fast-paced collaborative environment and adapt to changing needs. Experience in software development in biotech or pharmaceutical industries is a plus..
