Bioinformatics Analyst / BiostatisticianChanning Division of Network Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital02115-MA-Boston The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School is seeking to hire a bioinformatics analyst or biostatistician.
Brigham and Women’s is consistently ranked one of the top 10 hospitals in the United States, and the second largest recipient of NIH funding among independent hospitals, with over 1000 principal investigators. The Division of Network Medicine is a research division within the Department of Medicine whose goal is to define the etiology and reclassify complex disease using network- and systems-based approaches, and includes some of the largest population-based and pulmonary cohorts in the world.

One of the main focuses of the group is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), the third leading cause of death in the United States. Successful candidates will conduct research in the genetics and genomics of COPD, focusing on identification of rare genetic risk factors for severe disease using exome and whole genome sequencing data. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team including genetic epidemiologists, statisticians, network scientists, and molecular biologists at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as well as collaborators at the Harvard School of Public Health. The candidate should have a M.S. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biostatistics with at least two years research experience, or a MD or PhD, and some exposure to genetic analysis.

Specific experience in the genetics of complex traits and rare variant analysis R/Bioconductor, are requested but not required. The candidate must have authorization to work in the U.S.
