Position Description
Analyze cancer sequencing data using established pipelines;
Contribute to the development of novel pipelines for cancer genomics;
Establish and perform appropriate QC measures;
Implement, maintain and document data analysis pipelines and workflows;
Benchmark new tools for cancer sequencing data analysis and propose improvements;
Collaborate with internal and external researchers on interpretation of sequencing data;
Present results in written or oral reports for bioinformatics scientists and internal researchers;
Collaborate with bioinformatics scientists in preparing manuscripts and external presentations.
Position Requirements
MS with 2+ years work/research experience in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, biochemistry or similar;
1+ years demonstrated exposure to NGS data analysis; experience using standard NGS analysis software (including samtools, GATK, Picard, bedtools, etc);
Experience in cancer genomics; experience with somatic variant calling a plus;
Programming skills in R, Python, Perl, BASH or similar;
Programming skills in C++ or Java a plus;
Experience working in a Linux environment;
Experience using an SGE cluster preferred;
Experience working with TCGA, COSMIC, 1000 Genomes, ENCODE, or GTEx data a plus;
Training in statistics or machine learning a plus;
Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
