- The successful applicant should hold a PhD or MSc-level degree in bioinformatics/biostatistics or a related field.
- Previous experience in genome data analysis of higher eukaryotes is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Python, R, and Bash scripting in a Unix environment.
- Understanding of end-to-end NGS workflows and/or hands-on expertise of methods and tools for analyzing high-throughput genetic and genomic data: QC, normalization, etc.
- Experience with common NGS bioinformatic tools (Bowtie, SAMtools, bwa, etc.) and/or major genome database resources.
- The ability to discuss, design, document and implement solutions for novel biological data processing applications.
- Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
