We seek an energetic and motivated senior analyst for our expanding bioinformatics team. The successful candidate will have proven experience in leading and executing independent large complex projects, and some experience of supervision of junior staff. The key responsibilities will be:
- Meeting and consulting scientists requiring bioinformatics support and designing plans and solutions
- Delivery of results for projects
- Working as part of the broader team to identify longer-term solutions that will improve quality, speed and efficacy of our current projects and programs
- evaluating and benchmarking new software tools and pipeline development.
- Excellent communication and effective problem-solving skills, track record in serving a variety of diverse customers and projects
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage people if needed, within an environment with ever changing priorities.
- Deep bioinformatics skills, at the interface between bioinformatics programming and understanding of biological and clinical problems
- PhD or equivalent experience with evidence of impact in bioinformatics applied to real life problems in a research setting ideally within a clinical research environment
- 2 to 5 years of experience post PhD
- Prior experience supervising at least 1 person preferred
- Experienced in bioinformatics tools for a variety of sequencing protocols, e.g. DNAseq, RNAseq, Chip-Seq
- Significant scientific background with prior experience in clinical research
