Job Description:
The candidate will be in the bioinformatics group of F1 Oncology, a growing biotechnology company, at the corporate headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida. His/her main role will be to analyze Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data but may include other types of data analysis, as well as in silico bio-engineering as needed. The company is a venture and corporate funded biotechnology company focused on developing cancer medicines using cutting edge technologies, with operations in Florida, Asia and the West Coast. Duties will include: -Analyze NGS data using cloud-based pipelines -Develop customized algorithms for bioinformatic data processing as needed -Use various web-based, cloud-based and local bioinformatics tools -Search, retrieve and analyze datasets from public databases -Provide support with NGS statistical data analysis -Write reports and communicate results verbally -Interact with CROs to develop appropriate tools for high throughput data analysis -Cooperate with the rest of the team to optimize data analysis workflows Minimal requirements: -Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent -1-3 years of experience working with NGS data, and a good understanding of the benefits and limitations of NGS platforms -Practice with NGS data analysis tools and file manipulation -Strong computer/programming skills in Python, C++, Perl or equivalent -Experience with R Bioconductor -A good understanding of molecular biology and bio-engineering -Strong analytical and problem solving skills -Ability to quickly adapt to changing work priorities -Excellent written and verbal communication skills Additional desirable skills and experience: -An understanding of the biotechnology discovery process -Understanding and knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
