Job Description:
The Landau Lab at the New York Genome Center is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our efforts to study the basic principles of cancer evolution. As an Associate you will be trained in the analysis and interpretation of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, originating from patient samples as well as experimental modeling of cancer evolution, under the guidance of advanced bioinformaticians. Job Duties: -Learn and assist in analyzing sequencing data using established pipelines; -Learn and perform appropriate QC measures; -Learn and develop/benchmark new tools for sequencing data analysis; -Assist and collaborate with internal and external researchers in interpretation of sequencing data. The successful applicants will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team. The Landau Lab will provide significant on-the-job training. We seek a candidate who is motivated and can take independent initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience to move into a PhD program within a couple of years, based on the new skillset they develop at New York Genome Center (though, this is not a requirement). Required Skills: -BS or MS degree, or equivalent experience;
