Job description Engility is recruiting for a Bioinformatics Support Programmer for our FDA Scientific program. The Bioinformatics Support Programmer shall be supporting and extending Bioinformatics workflows and Bioinformatics software analytical tools for de novo sequence assembly and reference-based analysis. Other representative tasks include supporting and managing bioinformatics data and analysis workloads in High Performance Computing (HPC) stand alone and clustered environment. MS Degree 10+ years experience experience working with NGS data (454, Illumina, SOLiD, PacBio) Experience with software for de novo genome sequence assembly (Newbler, Velvet, Celera, etc.) and mapping short-read data (BWA, Bowtie, Novoalign, etc.) Experience with genomic workflow management systems (e.g. CLC Genomics Workbench, Accelrys Pipeline Pilot etc.) or bioinformatics pipeline development is highly desirable Demonstrable knowledge of working with bioinformatics databases and familiarity with data schema used for bioinformatics is essential. Demonstrable skills with advanced Perl, Python and C/C++ programming as applied to supporting and extending Bioinformatics workflows in Windows , Linux or Solaris environment.
