The Bioinformatics Director will manage a new Bioinformatics core facility on campus. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the facility including processing and analyzing data, maintaining equipment, and consulting a diverse group of scientists. Job Duties:
- Direct and manage the Bioinformatics core facility on campus.
- Manage all aspects of the facility including processing and analyzing data.
- Maintain equipment.
- Consult with a diverse group of scientists.
- Other duties as assigned.
- PhD in a quantitative science or bioinformatics.
- Experience processing and analyzing high throughput data.
- Expertise in data analysis including experimental design, exploratory data analysis, and application of appropriate statistical methods.
- Comfortable teaching and/or giving workshops on Computational Biology.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals as well as consulting on an as needed basis.
- RNA sequencing analysis software experience.
- Knowledge of single cell genomics.
- System administration experience.
- Cloud computing experience.
