Job Description:
The Innovation Laboratory within the CMO is a group of experimental and computational scientists dedicated to the creation and optimization of genomic assays for near-term clinical use. The goals of the Innovation Laboratory are to develop and validate genomic assays and associated computational pipelines for the molecular characterization of human tumors, to evaluate emerging technologies for potential clinical utility, to pilot them with clinical and translational investigators, and to work with clinical laboratories to ensure quality standards mandated by CLIA.

Once established, these assays can be deployed to guide treatment decisions and direct patients to promising clinical trials. Active areas of research include isolating and sequencing of circulating cell-free DNA from plasma and other bodily fluids, optimization of DNA and RNA capture techniques, and single-cell genomics applications.

YOU WILL:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and operate computational pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data.
  • Automate the calculation of performance metrics and genomic results from DNA sequencing experiments.
  • Contribute to a common code base for analysis of research and clinical sequencing data.
  • Troubleshoot computational methods and analyses.
  • Transform preliminary analysis scripts into robust and efficient code.
  • Perform large-scale projects and small custom tasks that span many classes of analysis problems.
  • Contribute to a team of translational researchers committed to improving the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
YOU HAVE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters or equivalent in computer science, bioinformatics, or mathematics
  • At least 2 years of software development
  • Thorough experience with Java
  • Advanced skills in Perl or Python
  • Experience with R
