Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Bioinformatics Research Scientist (graduate/post-graduate degree holders) to join our R&D operations. Candidates should have experience conducting research using bioinformatics in areas such as medical technology, biotechnology, computational information science, biochemistry and medical informatics. In this role, you’ll work directly with leading scientists and senior leadership to develop new products, and will gain exposure to multiple aspects of proposal / grant writing, fundraising, launching products as well as marketing.

Currently, we are only entertaining candidates from the Los Angeles, California area, who are either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents. We are looking for entry level candidates, with academic credentials from highly reputed institutions, ranging from masters to doctoral degree. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research using bioinformatics methods in areas such as medical technology, biotechnology, computational information science, biochemistry and medical informatics. May design databases and develop algorithms for processing and analyzing biolochemical/chemical information.
  • Design, develop, integrate, package, and test systems and devices using basic educational knowledge from the underlying fields of biomedical science or biotechnology (not pure biology or pure electronics).
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals, reports, manuals, schematics drawings and patent disclosure.
  • Seek vendor/customer input, provide customer support, and maintain a professional relationship with InnoSense LLC customers on a project-by-project basis. (Do not divulge InnoSense LLC’s operations related information [technical or financial] without first clearing it with the President/CEO or a designated employee).
  • Uphold a clutter-free, professional work environment, and follow all applicable federal, state, and local work-related regulations – including safety rules.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and enter all progress of the technical work throughout or promptly after the subtask completion, depending on the nature of the work.
  • Miscellaneous activities such as running errands and/or other administrative office functions.
Requirements:
  • Strong academic credentials – MA or Ph.D. in related scientific field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in American English, ability to work under deadline demands, active listening, innovation through hard work, strict compliance with workplace rules, complete cooperation with management, and team work.
  • Performing relevant experiments, developing research funding proposals in the biotechnology area.
  • Excellent analytical and market research skills. Must be very comfortable in identifying market size and competitive landscape
  • Must be a self-starter and a go-getter - you should be able to operate with minimal hand-holding and supervision
  • Must be fun, interesting, and driven; a good sense of humor is a must!
