Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the discovery of microRNA-based biomarkers and therapeutics. The successful candidate will be the key liaison between our Bioinformatics groups and the Regulus microMarkers™ R&D division. He/she will also help identify new disease targets and support our drug discovery programs.
Responsibilities
The key duties include but are not limited to:
Þ Supporting data management and bioinformatics pipelines for Regulus microMarkers™.
Þ Processing microRNA expression data and deriving new microRNA-based biomarkers for disease diagnostics, prognosis, monitoring and prediction of treatment response.
Þ Integrative analyses of omics data for therapeutic target identification and validation
Þ Support of drug discovery teams
Þ Contributing to study design and communicating with academic and industrial partners on the results.
Þ Creating novel algorithms maintaining our microRNA expression data analysis leadership by adapting novel analytical tools to specific challenges.
v Þ Staying current with the bioinformatics literature pertaining to biomarkers.

Requirements
Þ Ph.D. with 3-5 years of experience in bioinformatics, biostatistics, or computer science.
Þ Bioinformatics and/or biostatistics experience, preferably in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare setting.
Þ Strong background in multi-dimensional omics data (SNV, CNV, SV, RNA, protein).
Þ Previous experience with RNA-Seq and gene expression data analysis (pre-processing, differential expression) is a must.
Þ Experience with data mining methods used in multigene gene expression biomarkers discovery is highly preferred.
Þ Knowledge of microRNA is preferred.
Þ Fluency in R and at least one scripting language (e.g. PERL, Python) is essential.
Þ Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) is desirable.
Þ High emotional intelligence and a focus on the common good.
