CyberData Technologies, Inc., an established technology solution provider based in Herndon, Virginia, is looking to expand its growing team. Cyberdata Technologies is looking to hire a Bioinformatics Scientist to provide computational and bioinformatics support to scientists. Works collaboratively with senior scientists and scientists on a wide range of projects, starting from basic cell biology through clinical research. Develops new algorithms, tools, and software that will be combined with existing mechanisms for reproducible analysis, which will be used for publication to scientific journals. Develops and maintain software and data for scientists and labs. Works to understand the data and rationale behind specific scientific experiments and communicates the output clearly to collaborators.

- Analyze high-throughput sequencing data, from the original raw reads to the final outcome. Assays from RNA-seq, CHIP-seq, 4C-seq, Hi-C, ATAC-seq, DamID-seq, exome sequencing, and whole genome sequencing.Develop workflows for assays to run on high-performance computing clustersIntegrate analyzed data with results from published studiesReproduce analyses from published sources and integrate them with new data
- Design and develop custom visualization plots to portray new experimental results in a clear, concise method, which will be used for scientific publications.
- Develop new methods, procedures, tools and scripts on an as needed basis
- Masters in computer science, bioinformatics, or life sciences
- Outstanding self-directed learning skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 5 years of experience in Python
- 3 years or more experience in high-throughput sequencing data analysis
- 3 years or more experience with Linux system administration including Bash scripting
- Ability to identify, acquire, install, learn, test, and then apply newly-published software tools and techniques
- Ability to explain complex computational aspects of analysis to scientific personnel
