You will apply your knowledge of biology and data science to build a smart solution for genomics analysis. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze large genomics databases to create genomics analysis model
- Develop tools to extract features assisting clinical and genetic analysis
- Engineer and validate features for variant classification <7li>
- Develop machine learning models for genomics data analysis
- Present and communicate team objectives and achievements to both a technical and nontechnical audience
- Knowledge of DNA, RNA, and proteins
- Experience in analyzing next-generation sequencing data is a plus
- Knowledge and expertise in developing and implementing predictive models
- Experience in building industry standard machine learning infrastructures is a plus
- Proficiency with Python and shell scripting in Linux/Unix environment; flexibility and proficiency in additional languages is preferred
- Experience in using high performance computing and storage systems
- Experience in SQL and database modeling
- Ability to work with open source tools and techniques
- The ability to deliver projects on time and to specification
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team, among cross-departments, and as an independent contributor, requiring minimal supervision
- PhD preferred, or Masters plus equivalent industry experience required. Degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, structural biology, biophysics
- At least 3 years of research or industrial experience in scientific computing or computational research
- Familiarity with molecular biology and genetics
