Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatics scientist to support our sequencing, mass spectrometry and immunology teams. Working alongside another scientist and a software/cloud engineer, you will contribute to: the development of accurate, robust, and reproducible analysis pipelines; ongoing assessment and incorporation of relevant public and commercial analytical tools; the development of novel algorithms and methods as needed; the development of databases, creative visualizations and other tools to make results accessible and understandable. Education: Advanced degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics or a related discipline. Skills and experience: Several years of professional experience in the analysis of high-throughput -omic data. Proficiency in Linux in a grid or cloud environment. Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar language common in bioinformatics. A solid background in statistics. Knowledge of common bioinformatics tools and databases, and of large-scale genomics projects. Knowledge of oncology and/or immunology a plus. Additional Qualifications: An intense work ethic and focus on quality The ability to prioritize and complete tasks and advance projects with minimal supervision and with attention to detail. The ability to interact adaptably with scientists and non-scientists from various disciplines, and to explain complex problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A willingness to work hard and be creative in a fast-paced environment. A record of scientific accomplishment.
