Job Description:
Compass is seeking a hands-on Bioinformatics Scientist at our Cambridge, MA site. Principal responsibilities: Mine genomic, proteomic and structural biology datasets in support of target and biomarker characterization and evaluate new therapeutic concepts in the context of specific oncology indications Support data acquisition and analysis for internal high-throughput RNA/DNA sequencing and functional screening efforts of antibodies and other biologics Identify tools, processes, algorithms and databases to increase efficiency and maximize data value and contribute to database development and systems integration in pursuit of increasingly sophisticated analytics tools Cure cancer. Preferred Qualifications: -Experience in bioinformatics and mining of large biological datasets. -Ability to develop algorithms for sequencing and high throughput screening data acquisition and analysis. -Experience with oncology-specific public consortium databases including Protein Atlas, TCGA and other cancer-related datasets. -Experience working with NGS data and maintaining NGS processing pipelines. -Knowledge of computer programing languages (Python and PostgreSQL) and databases, including non-relational databases. -Knowledge of structural biology and computational modeling of protein structure and protein-protein interactions including relevant software. Basic Qualifications: -Ph.D. preferred. -5+ years of experience in bioinformatics or related field including analyzing data generated by equipment similar to Nanostring, Illumina, Luminex, Fluidigm, and/or microarray. -Experience working with and analyzing a variety of biological datasets.
