POSITION SUMMARY Provide technical expertise in analysis of high-throughput data associated with the development of a comprehensive bladder cancer diagnostic assay. Work within the Molecular Diagnostics group to develop and maintain automated tools for processing and interpreting experimental data from NGS and additional platforms in support of the internal R&D program. General Qualifications Minimum Education And/or Certification
- PhD degree in Bioinformatics or related field; or MS with 3+ years of experience
- Experience in processing of high-volume NGS data and analysis
- Competence with bioinformatics techniques associates with gene expression, microarray and next gen sequencing
- Experience in working with bioinformatics portals/databases such us UCSC Genome Browser, NCBI Entrez, dbSNP
- Experience in cancer research, including a working understanding of computation approaches for cancer genome analysis, is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of Python/Perl or other scripting language
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented startup environment
- Ability to present data to a multidisciplinary audience in a clear and cohesive manner
- High energy level, a driving sense of urgency and a “can do” orientation
- Excellent teamwork, time management and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Python/Perl or other scripting language
- Ability to understand and modify existing code, as well as develop new scripts
- Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology and genomics
- Ensures adherence to all State and Federal guidelines and regulations including compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations
- Performs other duties as required
