Description Cellular Research, Inc., is a biotechnology research and development company founded in 2011 by innovators from Silicon Valley and Stanford University was recently acquired by Becton Dickenson and has become an integral part of the new start-up Genomics business at BD. Our mission is to revolutionize life science research by enabling high-resolution investigation of single cells and limited samples, thereby creating new benchmarks and delivering new capabilities in discovery and drug development. Cellular Research has developed Molecular Indexing to deliver these capabilities. Molecular Indexing is a revolutionary technology that enables direct and precise counting of individual molecules, genes, chromosomes, and other genetic materials in very small samples and individual cells.

Scope:

· Develop novel analytical tools for data generated by a disruptive genetic cytometry product line based on proprietary digital encoding technology

· Support data analysis of the genetic cytometry platform for early access customers and collaborators

· Work closely with scientists in R&D to perform analysis on genetic cytometry data

· Interact with and support early access customers and partners, as well as colleagues in marketing

Job Responsibilities:

· Develop methods to analyze and visualize high dimensional genetic cytometry data

· Analyze data output by our genetic cytometry system for product development and scientific collaborations

· Integrate gene expression cytometry data with other genomic and experimental data

· Present data to scientists in R&D, as well as early access customers and collaborators

· Collaborate effectively with other employees to help advance the company’s research and development and commercial goals

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

· MS or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Genetics, Computer Science, Biomedical engineering, or related field required.

· At least 2 years of full-time experience in bioinformatics and analysis of biological data

· Experience with Python, statistical tools such as R or MATLAB, basic shell scripting required.

· Knowledge and/or experience with machine learning algorithms highly desirable

· Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing and microarray data preferred

· Experience analyzing and visualizing high dimensional data in genomics or cytometry preferred

· Experience with public genomic databases (e.g. Genome Browser) preferred
