Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensures up-to-date knowledge on strategies for data privacy protection.
- Establishes state-of-the-art protocols for any of the following steps: data base management, data analyses and queries, and delivery of reports in an environment of high level privacy protection.
- Develop novel genome privacy & security algorithms and methods
- A degree in engineering, computer sciences, or in other technical or theoretical backgrounds with a strong experience in data protection, security and privacy.
- Knowledge of one or several of the following domains and applications: Privacy-preserving analysis and computation on genomic data, security and privacy metrics for the leakage of data, cross-layer attacks to privacy, access control for data, differentiated access rights for medical professionals, de-anonymization attacks against genomic databases, efficient cryptographic techniques for enhancing security/privacy of genomic data, storage and long-term safety of genomic data.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with great attention to detail and record keeping in both lab notebook and electronic documentation.
- A PhD or a postdoc in academic or private sector groups focused on data protection.
- Background in computer sciences, mathematics and/or bioinformatics a plus.
- Experience in a start-up environment
- Statistical genetics and Big Data expertise. Able to manipulate and process complex genetic data.
- Self-Starter
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Programing in C, C++, C#, Python, Matlab, R
- Excellent communication skills
- Mixture of private offices, open space with cubicles, and wet-bench laboratory
- Global environment with multiple sites, which may require work beyond standard business hours
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and kneeling
- Must be able to lift and transport at least 25 pounds
