Job Description:
The Bioinformatics Scientist will hold a Secret security clearance and work in a team using proteomics for U.S. Army research. Research efforts will include the development and optimization of tools/processes for proteomic analysis. All work will be conducted within a DoD facility. Support research efforts with Government scientists and follow safety and quality requirements in the labCollect, organize, and process proteomics data to provide information to support chemical and biological warfare agent detection and identification. Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen with at least a Secret security clearance. BS in bioinformatics, advanced information technology, biology or related field required, MS preferred, with 5 years of related laboratory experienceMust have at least 3 years of experience performing proteomic informatics and algorithm development. Experience with the entire proteomics research process including development and curation of a proteins sequences data-warehouse, bioinformatics application pipeline development, data reduction, and multivariate analysisProficient with databases such as mongoDB and relevant software e.g. C++Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, troubleshooting, and communication skills
