Job Description:
We are seeking passionate and talented individuals to join us in realizing our mission, which has the potential to dramatically reduce the global burden of cancer.

The Bioinformatics R&D Scientist will be responsible for technical development of improved and novel methods, analyses, pipelines, and algorithms for GRAIL’s laboratory developed tests. The Scientist must be passionate about innovating new applications of next generation sequencing and driving novel discoveries to enable next generation of diagnostic testing. The ideal candidate would be experienced with large data analysis, use mathematics and computer science to creatively solve problems, convert solutions into efficient scalable programs to be run in the cloud and high performance computing environments.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze deepest NGS datasets generated to date.
  • Create statistical models to uncover hidden patterns in the data.
  • Implement efficient software to analyze billions of sequencing reads per sample across millions of samples.
  • Collaborate with world best R&D experimental and computational scientists to develop novel cutting-edge genomics products.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
  • Passionate coder with deep knowledge of one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, Go, Java.
  • Excellent command of unix environment, shell scripting, R.
  • Scientific mindset, creative thinker, passionate about R&D.
  • Deep understanding of NGS assays and data, experience with advanced computational biology projects.
  • Ph.D. or Masters in Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Genetics, Genomics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field is highly desirable.
  • Enthusiastic to work as part of cross disciplinary R&D team.
