Job Description:
The Select Group's client is looking for a junior to mid-level software engineer to join their team as soon as possible! The ideal candidate will have experience with software engineering, and come from a background of bioinformatics or related sciences, or has a passion for getting into this field. BIOINFORMATICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER Requirements:

  • Develop software to extract and process NGS information
  • Develop software applications to integrate bioinformatics
  • Running data analysis, writing scripts, creating solutions around next generation genomic sequencing
  • Languages: java, C, python, perl and/or MATLAB
  • Knowledgeable, bright, self-starting work ethic
BIOINFORMATICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER Responsibilities:
  • 1-5 years experience
  • Strong passion for getting into bioinformatics or next generation sequencing
  • Python programming experience
  • Experience with algorithms and data manipulation
  • Minimum of Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Bioinformatics, lab/diagnostics, healthcare or life sciences highly preferred
  • Plus skills: Next generation sequencing tools ie. GATK, CLC, Tuxedo
