Job Description:
The Bioinformatics Specialist will contribute to the laboratory's research on tuberculosis, with the long-term goal of developing new strategies to improve control of the disease. The Bioinformatics Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of established next generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipelines, as well as the design, development, and implementation of custom NGS data analysis pipelines. This work will include, but is not limited to, high-throughput genomics approaches to study tuberculosis pathogenesis, including analysis of CRISPR-based genome scale screens, single cell RNA sequencing, RNAseq, TNseq, and microbial genomics. Will utilize commonly used algorithms for alignment, assembly, variant calling, and differential expression/count analysis. The Bioinformatics Specialist will collaborate with lab members and will have the opportunity to lead independent research projects.
