Job Description:
Illumina Customer Solutions provides customers with technical support for our innovative sequencing and array technologies. As an in-house Bioinformatics Technical Applications Scientist, you will provide in-depth technical advice and troubleshooting assistance on NGS analysis software. You will join our global bioinformatics support team collaborating to deliver innovative and scalable analysis solutions to meet the needs of our customers. The position will cover a wide range of support functions, from routine software operations, network, to in depth data analysis, and you will prioritize and adjust focus based on the different needs and volumes at times. Candidates will receive extensive product training, competitive salaries and stock.

All About You
Responsibilities:- Provide technical guidance and support for Illumina’s software on Windows, Linux and Cloud-based platforms, via phone and email
- Advise on data analysis of NGS applications, such as WGS, Exome, Targeted Seq, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq etc
- Develop and edit technical bulletins for internal and external customers
- Share Bioinformatics knowledge within the large organization through training
- Collaborate with software development teams to improve Illumina sequencing software
- Minimum Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Molecular Biology
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience with bioinformatics
- Familiar with Windows and Linux Operating System
- Skills in a script language, ex Perl, Python, and/or shell scripting, a plus
- High degree of collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Customer support or collaboration experience desirable
- Willing to travel up to 10%
