Job Description:
The Bioinformatics Technologist performs a variety of duties related to the development of bioinformatics computer software and the maintenance of software infrastructure to support flow cytometry information management. The technologist also provides technical support to the lab members to ensure the research objectives of the group are met.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

-Graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline such as one of the Biological Sciences, Statistics or Computer Science.

-Two (2) years of recent related experience in a research laboratory including experience in analysis of automated flow cytometry data or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Principal Investigator (PI).

Skills and Abilities:

-Demonstrated skill in working with automated flow cytometry data analysis.

-Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in the team environment.

-Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize work assignments and establish priorities.

-Demonstrated knowledge of software languages, operating systems and programming languages including Unix/Linux, experience in one of more of R, C/C++, Matlab as well as relational databases.

-Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
