Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research at Cornell University
BTI, an independent research institute on the Cornell University campus, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek candidates conducting highly innovative research in any area of plant biology. We particularly welcome applicants whose research interests include a focus on plant microbiomes or combine metabolomic and genomic approaches.
BTI is part of the Cornell campus in Ithaca, a culturally diverse and vibrant town in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. BTI’s state-of-the-art facilities include mass spectrometry, plant cell imaging, plant growth, and plant transformation (http://bti.cornell.edu/research/research-resources/facilities-services/). In addition, BTI is home of the bioinformatics hub for Solanaceae genomics (http://solgenomics.net/). BTI faculty members also have access to Cornell University facilities, such as the Life Sciences Core Laboratories Center (http://www.brc.cornell.edu). The successful candidate is expected to establish an outstanding extramurally funded research program, to develop links to Cornell University’s School of Integrative Plant Science (http://plantscience.cals.cornell.edu/), and to participate in graduate training through adjunct appointment to a Section within the School.
