CAPITALS Post Doctoral Research Associate Durham University Location: Durham Salary: £31,342 to £33,242 Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Contract / Temporary Placed on: 26th June 2015 Closes: 27th July 2015 Job Ref: 4759
This post is part of the CAPITALS consortium (Curvature, Asymmetry and Patterning Integrated Through All Length Scales) involving groups at Imperial College, Cambridge, Leeds, Nottingham and Durham. The project aims to understand and control asymmetry, curvature and patterning in lipid bilayers and to use this knowledge to create complex hierarchical structures with lipid bilayers as the basic building block. This PDRA position will primarily involve the characterisation of lipid bilayers by Raman spectroscopy, including the development of quantitative methods for imaging chemical composition and following compositional changes in real time. The successful candidate will interact closely with other members of the CAPITALS research team and use their skills to contribute to a diverse range of projects within the research programme. The post-holder will report to Prof. Colin Bain at Durham University, who may be contacted for informal discussions (c.d.bain@durham.ac.uk)
The position is fixed-term and available immediately. The position will end on 31 May 2017.
