The Family Larsson–Rosenquist Foundation Chair in Human Lactology has been created to provide academic leadership and direction in world-class fundamental research in human lactation at the University of Western Australia.

Applications are invited for this tenurable Chair, the world's first biochemical professorship for human lactation research. This appointment provides a challenging and exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified person whose research focus is, or can be directed towards, gaining a fundamental understanding of human lactation. The University seeks to appoint a leading academic to build on our strong academic presence in this discipline.  

The appointee will have an established research track record in areas of biochemistry, cell or molecular biology, cell signalling, physiology, or the 'omics' fields of study, and will build and lead an internationally-recognised research program focused on projects relevant to human lactation. The research program will be strongly supported by separate Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation funding for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and a PhD Scholarship.

The appointee will contribute to undergraduate teaching and graduate student training (PhD and MSc) in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and lead the strategic initiative of a postgraduate accredited course in human lactation.

An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated including:

Professorial salary; Employer contribution to superannuation of 17% (standard employee contribution is 7%) Recreation leave of 20 working days per annum; Long service leave; Eligibility for sabbatical leave; A substantial funding package comprising an attractive allowance for research support staff, consumables and a generous start-up budget; Relocation assistance, including air fares, will be offered for the appointee and dependants.
