Postdoctoral position in bioinformatics Employer Chalmers University of Technology Location Sweden Posted July 05 2016 Discipline Physical Sciences, Mathematics Position Type Full Time Send Save Apply We have an open position for a motivated, self-driven post-doctoral researcher in bioinformatics. The position will be focused on the development of new methods for the analysis of metagenomic data, with a special emphasis on assessment of genetic diversity and evolutionary selection pressures. The position includes close collaboration with researchers from clinical microbiology and the environmental sciences, in particular within the Centre for Antibiotic Resistance Research (http://care.gu.se) and the NICE strong research environment (http://www.nice.gu.se). The position is funded by the Swedish Research Council.
The position is for 24 months and located in Erik Kristiansson's research group at Division of Applied Mathematics and Statistics. The research group is focused on the bioinformatical and statistical analysis of high-dimensional data with applications in the life sciences. The research group has a strong interdisciplinary profile and we are actively collaborating with experimental groups within infectious diseases, molecular diagnostics, environmental sciences, ecology and cancer genomics.
