Job Description & Responsibilities:
Lacework is solving some of the most challenging problems in the cloud security space and we are looking for a Chief Data Scientist to join the Lacework team to help transform the industry with unique and differentiated solution. Data Science is one of main building blocks of our innovative solution and Chief Data Scientist is a mission critical role for us.
You will manage the efforts of the data science team across all aspects of the company and products. You also set the technical vision and direction of data science with our executive leadership team. You will work with product and engineering to improve our existing data products and launch new ones. Chief Data Scientist will define the long-term data science roadmap at Lacework - driving adoption of best practices in data science and provide vision to bring in the latest developments in statistical modeling, optimization techniques and machine learning methods.Some of the challenges you will be solving.
Work with multiple, complex data sources at large scaleUtilize big data and machine learning to build clustering and anomaly detection modelsDevelop and mentor team and peers on the Data ScienceSecurity is always a cat and mouse game with hackers. Your challenge will be to build models, which have high efficacy and reduce the false positives and at same time not miss even a single attack.Identify new data sources/patterns that add significant lift to security modeling capabilitiesThe number of features are large and scale of date huge and how do you move models from R/Matlab to production at scale.Collaborate with Product to develop new use cases and expand the product in new directionsCollaborate with Engineering to build the ideal platform for the company as you will play a critical role in end-end development of the platform.Build and launch the data foundations of our new productsPerform thorough testing and validation of models and support various aspects of the business with data analyticsDesign, build, implement and test machine learning models and ship deployment ready versions into productionLearning of models from one customer to next: How to transfer knowledge but still keep the separation of data.Skills
7+ years of experience as a data scientist, with a background (MS or PhD preferred) in machine learning, statistics, bioinformatics, signal processing or related fieldTeam Leadership skills.Self starter and having architectural bend when building applicationsAbility to influence all parts of product design.Knowledge and experience with Python, Spark Mlib, R or MatlabFamiliar with database schemasProven ability to prioritize and drive product-centric machine learning effortsPrior experience in leading, hiring and managing a teamBias towards results, with sound judgment and pragmatismStrong background/experience with ETL, data mining, statistical analysis, data processing with very large amounts of dataStrong business acumen and ability to see the impacts of data at a very high levelStrong intuition, ability to advocate for and ability to dig deep into dataPublic speaking skill as you will be speaking at public forums for company and will be responsible for building new patentable technology for the company. You should have the aptitude to read the cutting edge research in academia or industry and apply it to the problem at hanBenefits
