The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the development of software that leverages genetic, bioinformatics and computer science to analyze pipelines and applications.
- Analyzes large-scale genomic data (Exome, Whole genome and RNA-seq)
- Interprets the results of routine tests carried out by genetic technologists
- Develops and devises new investigation strategies
- Interprets quality control and quality assurance data
- Continually updates professional skills and knowledge by reading scientific literature and attending training courses and conferences
- Advises on genomics testing, results and interpretation
- Understands and advises on emerging genomic technologies, nomenclature and standards
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing strategies for genomic data for research and clinical use
- Develop new strategies for other omics
- Graduate degree preferred in genetics or bioinformatics
- Work experience in Genetic Labs and/or genetic institutes
- Experience with DNA sequence analysis, next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, use of online databases and in-silico tools
- Proficient in statistical data analysis of genomic data
- Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate significant results and present conclusions from quantifiable criteria
- Demonstrated scientific writing skills; strong communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge in molecular biology or experience in web/database development a plus
