About the Role: You will be part of the Bioinformatics team analyzing patient samples and their genomic profiles, helping to find the right treatment options for cancer patients based on a simple blood draw. Your role will be to work with members of the bioinformatics team, clinical reporting teams, and medical science liasons to provide analysis and interpretation of individual and population clinical genomics data. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide analytic support to medical science liaisons working with physicians on individual samples and research activities.
- Provide analytic support to CLIA and CAP regulated clinical operations.
- Explore genomic data from clinical patients and external annotation sources to enhance quality of reporting.
- Participate as a team member on data analysis tasks.
- Develop scripts for research and development activities. Qualifications
- PhD in cancer genomics or similar.
- Experience with human genetics and cancer genetics databases e.g. (ExAC, TCGA).
- Experience with variant calling and annotation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis.
- Knowledge of standard bioinformatics tool e.g. samtools, picard, snpEff, etc..
- Ability to work well in a rapid-pace startup environment.
- Ability to work well in a group.
- Experience working with databases using SQL queries.
- Experience using scripting languages (Python or Shell).
- Experience with high-level programming (R or Python).
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
